To the Manager Pioneer Bank
Roswell COMMUNITY RECEPTION FOR ILEA SESSION 57.
What a wonderful gesture. A community reception within the bank building. Organized by Roswell Community. Tellers turned into a dining table. One office turned into a kitchen and a store for food.
This is a bank meant for monetary issue but now for two hours on 11/7/07 after 6:30 PM turned into a cafeteria. This is to receive the (Session 57) ILEA in Roswell City. It is so amazing. The community welcomes us with full of smiles. The management smiles to the last teeth. I also see a police officer from Roswell Police for the first time. Am told he is a senior police officer in Roswell.
We are hugged, hands shaken with love, welcoming gestures.
The community gave us two badges and a small item as welcoming presents. But ‘alas’ two senior citizens of Roswell, man and wife, are carrying small flags, yellow in color. The two gives each of us a flag after shaking hands. They seemed to be very young at this time. This is because of the happiness seen in their faces. We just wonder what a reception.
I wondered, are there no halls for this function in Roswell, yes many schools open ground, etc. But why in a bank? I remembered my good professor Souryal, who lectured me first at (ILEA) Roswell. Civility, partnership, community policing, etc. Yes, the bank of Pioneer in Roswell is in partnership with the community. When civility is there in a community and mostly where every stakeholder is involved security is manageable.
Also I remember Mr. Taylor (ILEA) lecture two hours ago about barriers of communications. The bank, police, ILEA, NMMI and the community removed their official bureaucracy barriers and communication was effective to and from all stake holders involved.
The two senior citizens of Roswell moved me into deep thoughts. I remembered my best four letter word in my life “GIVE”. I had a chance to ask the man a question, “why are you so happy grandpa?” He answered me that “because I love you guys”. Then I knew that is why they gave us the small yellow flags.
In my country yellow color is termed as a color of integrity. Surely I just love the integrity of Roswell. I wish my people at home can see this live as I am seeing it. Roswell is a real example of civility.
God bless you Roswell (LONG LIVE NEW MEXICO FLAG)
